Flight Simulator Safety Training for Pilots

STEM Aviation Academy provides safety training curriculum for general aviation pilots and qualified high school students who intend on pursuing a career in aviation.

This curriculum will also include the use of full-motion flight simulators and general aviation training aircraft. Once the pilots and/or students have completed this program, which will take approximately 4 hours, it may also satisfy parts of the FAA’s Pilot Proficiency Program called WINGS. This program is based on the premise that pilots who maintain currency and proficiency in the basics of flight will enjoy a safer and more stress-free flying experience.

Angle of Attack Training

  • STEM Aviation Academy firmly believes in implementing Angle of Attack (“AOA”) safety training. An AOA indicator is an instrument that helps pilots know how much lift is being generated by the wings at any point in time and in any aircraft configuration.
  • Its purpose is to give the pilot better situational awareness pertaining to the aerodynamic health of the airfoil and stall margin awareness. AOA indicators are utilized in all military aircraft.
  • A Loss of Control (“LOC”) accident involves an unintended departure of an aircraft from a controlled flight and may quickly develop into a stall or fatal spin. When a pilot has taken AOA-based flight training, the pilot will better understand the contributing factors to LOC accidents and will fly safer.
  • STEM Aviation Academy teaches pilots on the ground and in flight how to properly use AOA during all phases of flight. Book one-half or full day of AOA safety training today.
